Hazmat crews called to semi collision on I-10 in Chambers County
CHAMBERS CO., TX – Police are investigating a semi crash that closed the interstate in north-central Chambers County for over four hours Monday morning.
According to KHOU 11, the accident occurred sometime before 7:30 a.m. on I-10 near Hankamer, which is approximately 47 miles northeast of Houston.
Police haven’t shared any details about the cause or circumstances of the collision except to say that it involved two 18-wheelers.
Along with emergency crews, HAZMAT team also reported to the scene.
It’s not yet clear if anyone sustained injuries in the accident.
Officials re-opened all lanes of 1-10 by around 11:30 a.m.
The investigation is ongoing.
