Off-duty Houston police officer killed in Mills Run solo crash

HOUSTON, TX – Authorities are investigating a single-vehicle collision that claimed the life of an off-duty police officer Sunday in northwest Houston.

According to Click2Houston, the accident occurred around 1:25 a.m. in the area of Cypress Mills Drive and Perry Road, which is south of Orchard Park at Willowbrook.

Police say that Senior Police Officer Sean McCreary lost control of a city vehicle, left the roadway, and crashed into a tree.

Officer McCreary sustained fatal injuries in the crash.

There were no other passengers in the vehicle when the accident happened.

The investigation is ongoing.
