1 injured when recycling truck, car collide on S Loop WB
HOUSTON, TX – One person was hurt Tuesday in a two-vehicle collision that happened along the interstate in southwest Houston, reports KHOU 11.
Shortly before 11 a.m., emergency crews responded to the westbound side of I-610, or South Loop West, near NRG Stadium and the Bayou City Event Center.
It’s not yet clear what caused the accident, which police say involved a recycling truck and a Volkswagen Beetle.
One person became entrapped in their vehicle and required extrication.
Medics transported one person to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.
Officials closed I-610 for around three hours while teams gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
