Pedestrian injured in Gulf Freeway multi-vehicle crash

HOUSTON, TX – A woman suffered injuries Sunday when a vehicle struck her as she attempted to cross the Gulf Freeway on foot, reports KTRK.

The crash occurred near Scott Street at about 11:55 a.m. Houston TranStar reported that the wreck involved five vehicles.

Paramedics transported the pedestrian to a local hospital for treatment. Reports did not indicate the severity of her injuries or her condition.

The crash shut down all southbound lanes of the Gulf Freeway near Scott Street for several hours. Drivers were rerouted to leave the freeway at Cullen Boulevard/Lockwood-Elgin.

Crews had reportedly cleared the scene of the multi-vehicle collision by about 1:50 p.m. Sunday.
