Pedestrian hospitalized after Bammel Village Drive hit-and-run

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run crash early Thursday on Bammel Village Drive, per the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Reports indicate that the crash happened around 4:07 a.m. on May 7. Deputies say two people, identified as Derrick Manning and Juliana Frank, were traveling on foot near the 15700 block of Bammel Village Drive at the time.

According to investigators, an unidentified black sedan collided with Manning from the rear as the pair walked south along the roadway. The driver did not stop or attempt to render aid after the collision.

Paramedics later took Manning to HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest for treatment. He was reportedly in stable condition after the crash.

Frank remained at the location to cooperate with investigators. Deputies have not yet identified the driver.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division continues to investigate the case.
