1 dead, 2 others injured in head-on crash with semi-truck in East Bernard

EAST BERNARD, TX – A 66-year-old man was killed, and two juveniles were injured in a head-on crash involving a semi-truck in East Bernard on Tuesday.

Texas Department of Public Safety told ABC13 that the crash took place on U.S. 90 near FM 1952. Law enforcement said their findings reveal that a 16-year-old girl, driving a 2025 Honda sedan, was traveling west on the highway when she entered the eastbound lane and collided head-on with a 2007 Freightliner.

The truck driver, a 66-year-old man from Sealey, died from his injuries at the scene.

The teenage driver, and her passenger, a 10-year-old boy, survived and were injured. EMS took both of them to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston for treatment.

Law enforcement is actively working to determine the cause of the crash.
