Pedestrian’s life claimed in collision with multiple vehicles in Houston
HOUSTON, TX – A pedestrian was killed in a collision involving multiple vehicles in Houston on Saturday, ABC13 said.
The incident unfolded around 9:15 p.m. on the Gulf Freeway near El Dorado Boulevard. One vehicle first struck a pedestrian and then several others.
Police said they received a call about a man having a mental crisis and said they believe that call was in connection with the man who was struck by the vehicles and went on to die from his injuries.
Police said the first driver admitted to having a drink around 5:15 p.m. that same day, but was not tested positive for DWI after completing a field sobriety test.
Police have not released information on the other drivers who struck the pedestrian or released the pedestrian’s name.
Officials shut down all northbound lanes, including both shoulders, to accommodate the investigation period.
