City employee fatally hit by METRO bus in downtown Houston
HOUSTON, TX – A woman died Friday morning after being struck by a METRO bus in downtown Houston’s Theater District, according to Click2Houston.
The fatal incident unfolded at Rusk and Smith Streets, near Tranquility Park, at around 7:40 a.m.
Houston Police Department officials have not specified what led up to the crash, but the victim, identified as a member of the City of Houston HR Operations Employee Relations team, died as a result of her injuries at the scene.
It’s unclear at this time whether any charges or citations are expected to be filed. An investigation into the cause of the collision remains in progress.
