Driver fatally collides with pole in west Houston
HOUSTON, TX – A driver died after colliding with a pole on the 7900 block of Katy Freeway Service Rd on Thursday, according to the Houston Police Department.
A 28-year-old woman was driving a silver Ford Fusion west on Katy Freeway Service Rd in the left turn-only lane when she continued straight and slammed into a pole underneath the westbound lanes of the freeway around 2 a.m.
Rescue crews pronounced the driver dead at the scene.
Nobody else was involved in the collision.
The HPD Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the incident.
