Motorcyclist dies following multi-vehicle crash on FM 1488 in Spring
SPRING, TX – One motorcyclist died, and another was hurt in a multi-vehicle collision on the 33700 block of FM 1488 on Sunday, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Diane Wheeler was driving a red 2021 Kia Sportage west when she went into a curve and entered the eastbound lanes, where she encountered three motorcyclists. Around 9:30 a.m., she collided head-on with Travis Bailey, who was riding a 2016 Kawasaki Ninja.
Daniel Perez, who was operating a black 2020 Yamaha R6, was hit by debris from the crash, which damaged the front of his motorcycle.
Kelly Tompkins was riding a 2024 Aprilia RSV4. He crashed into a ditch.
First responders pronounced Bailey dead at the scene at 9:47 a.m. They transported Wheeler and Tompkins to area hospitals,
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the incident.
