Police investigate fatal single-vehicle crash on Flower Garden Lane

HOUSTON, TX – A man died in a single-vehicle collision at 1900 Flower Garden Lane on Tuesday morning, according to the Houston Police Department.

A 40-year-old man was driving a white Ford Escape west on Flower Garden Lane at around 6:45 a.m. when he strayed off the road, slammed into a tree, and hit a landscaping rock before jumping a curb and crashing into a retention pond. The vehicle became fully submerged in the pond.

Officers with the HPD’s Dive Team found the driver.

First responders pronounced the driver dead at the scene.

Officials have not released the victim’s name.
