Multi-car crash on US-290 near Barker Cypress slows traffic
CYPRESS, TX – A multi-vehicle collision along the highway in northwest Harris County caused substantial traffic delays Wednesday evening, reports KHOU 11.
The accident occurred around 7 p.m. on the northbound side of US-290, or the Northwest Freeway, near Barker Cypress Road in Cypress. This is approximately 27 miles northwest of Houston.
Police haven’t commented on the cause or circumstances of the crash except to say that four vehicles may have been involved.
Officials closed all but two northbound lanes of the US-290 while crews assessed for injuries and worked to clear the scene.
It’s not yet clear if anyone involved in the collision required hospitalization.
All lanes re-opened by around 7:40 p.m.
